BOOK DESIGN
Creating an entire book from scratch is not easy; I know because for this piece I did just that. The content, the layout, the binding of the book; I was responsible for the creation and the compilation of all of these elements.
The book itself is about the famous type designer and founder of the Arts & Crafts Movement, William Morris. It showcases characteristics from William Morris’ work including natural colors: green, beige, brown; as well as handcrafted elements: the bookbinding, the paper, the typography. I utilized a rendition of one of William Morris’ famous typefaces as a heading for each chapter of the book. The inside pages of the book are decorated with floral patterns and beautifully colored images.
